Railway Survey

A lobby group seeking to reinstate a closed railway line between two important centres in East Anglia needed advice and assistance in building a convincing case to present to the authorities.

Having devised the methodology for a robust feasibility study, we undertook survey work to determine whether there was any real need for a rail link between the two centres. The survey not only conclusively demonstrated the demand, but also forecast the demand patterns, likely volume of usage and service standards required for a reinstated line.

The lobby group were able to convince town, district and county councils that the reinstated railway link is both necessary and achievable. A consortium was been formed to support, help fund and progress the project to the next stage towards completion, an engineering survey.
