Introduction
An impressive and well-run turnkey business, specialising in the plastic injection industry and based in Buntingford, needed support with transitioning to ISO9001:2015. The project would be a challenge for both client and consultant, with the client undergoing significant Infrastructure changes in order to double the size of their facilities.
What We Did
- Provided an overview of the revised standard, determined the context of the company, including internal and external issues, and the needs and expectations of all interested parties. We then assessed the company’s existing Quality Management System to identify any gaps, and developed an action plan to achieve audit readiness for transition to the new standard.
- Developed a method of capturing risks and opportunities and integrated this approach into management review meetings. Reviewed the existing internal audit plan, and ensured a risk-based approach was taken in developing an appropriate revised plan.
- Supported the business in the run-up to the transition audit and subsequent re-certification audit, attending both audits to ensure the changes were effectively communicated to the certification body.
Results
Despite the associated challenges, both client and consultant came through with successful re-certification to the new standard. The company can now continue their substantial growth with up to date certification and quality management processes.
