Allaway Acoustics design, manufacture and install noise control systems across the world. They needed to improve the competitiveness of their business by reducing the cost of their manufacturing operation.
What We Did:
- Trained a mixed group of Directors, Managers, Team Leaders and Shop-Floor Staff in Lean Processing
- Implemented Visual Product Planning, Balanced Flow and Kanban Management
- Implemented 5S in their finished product storage area
- Established active KPI monitoring and management
- Coached and supported the management team to improve design for manufacture and people management
As a result, the company has made great strides in improving flow through production and reducing waste. Initial productivity gains were 20% and over an 18 month period this increased to 50%; worth over £1m /annum.
