With 10,000 invoices received annually from external homecare agencies, this project was aimed at improving BVPI8, relating to the timely payment of invoices. The difficulty of reconciling invoices and management information was causing late payment and putting undue pressure on smaller providers.
Lean Six Sigma and other techniques were used to understand the process and all parties given workshop training to allow them to be involved in change.
A new process reduced the required payments resource to deliver cost savings and improved the efficiency of payments to providers.
