WLP can support you with establishing basic cyber security controls through Cyber Essentials certification, and with more advanced information security management through ISO 27001.

Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed scheme, designed to help businesses guard against the most common cyber threats, whilst also demonstrating a commitment to cyber security. It helps with the protection of personal data, as required under the Data Protection Act 2018, as well as the protection of other important information to prevent identify theft and access to bank accounts.

Launched in 2014, suitable for businesses of any size and generally low-cost, it will also soon be a requirement for any businesses dealing with public sector organisations. There is also a further certification known as Cyber Essentials Plus which takes safeguarding further.

ISO 27001:2013

Ultimately there is ISO27001, the internationally recognised standard for information security systems. Achieving certification demonstrates that your company is following best practice in regard to information security, with verification from an expert that your information security is being managed correctly.

This standard is currently undergoing a review to be upgraded to meet the requirements for all management systems standards (AnnexSL).
